As a first year dental student we go to the lab once a week to do wax-ups of teeth. We spend hours manipulating the hot wax with instruments to try and replicate what teeth in the mouth should look like.
This week I have had some very specific blessings and I am so grateful to the Lord for his mercy and I know he cares about the fine tunings in my life.
Just as I work hours upon hour to get a tooth just right with wax… My Heavenly Father works tirelessly on me, just dust of the earth, to get the right shape, form, angles, smoothness and polish.
It is not an easy process..should I really spend all this time and care about this 11 mm by 7 mm piece of wax to get it perfect? Especially when it can look decent in about 30 mins? Why spend the extra hours getting it just right?
The Lord puts this much care into our lives. He has known us for a very long time, knows our names and our innermost desires. He is dedicated to making us perfect and won’t stop until we have all that he has. If we will just submit to his fine tuning…allow ourselves to be built up, carved to the right shape, form, smoothed and polished then we will be his pride and glory.
I got a good grade on my first wax up of a tooth and I felt so happy to have a final product I could take pride in. The Lord feels the same joy with us when we allow him to work with us. The fine tunings are worth it in the end.
Although we had to follow guidelines on our wax-ups, my tooth when I finished had a distinct artistic touch unique to me. All 110 dental students did the project but there weren’t two teeth that are exactly the same.
The best thing is that the Lord fine tunes each one of us in a unique way according to our personality and tendencies. His final product of us is unlike any other he has made to date.
Lets let the Lord refine us…even the fine tunings…and realize how much he cares.
